About the exhibition

PolarExpo Fishing hunting takes place every two years and is a 3-day exhibition attended by 1500-2000 guests. In 2024 it will be the 9th time AKKC organizes a fishing exhibition in Greenland.

About PolarExpo

PolarExpo Fishing Hunting (formerly PolarFish) will be held in 2024 for the 9th time in Greenland. The first seven exhbitions took place in Sisimiut, but after a couple of cancellations due to Covid-19. Covid-19, the exhibition was moved to the northern part of Greenland and held in Ilulissat for the first time in 2022.

PolarExpo is the only exhibition for fishing and hunting in Greenland and is organized by Aalborg Kongres Kultur Center (AKKC) in close collaboration with Greenlandic stakeholders. The exhibition has moved from Sisimiut further north to Ilulissat, as the hotel capacity is better in Ilulissat, but not least because many people are employed in the fishing industry in North Greenland, which ensures a larger visitor base.

The exhibition helps to emphasize AKKC’s role as a professional organizer of fishing exhibitions. In addition to PolarExpo in Greenland, AKKC also organizes the DanFish exhibition, which is one of Europe’s most important exhibitions for commercial fishing equipment. DanFish International takes place in Aalborg every two years and attracts both exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.

AKKC’s trade fair team is responsible for most aspects of organizing the trade fair in Grønlang; from selling stands, coordination, logistics, marketing, technical sales and execution.
All the equipment for the stands is packed into containers that are shipped to Greenland well in advance of the fair.
About a week before the opening day, a team of AKKC’s experienced stand builders moves into the hall and together with local helpers, the stands are erected and tables, chairs and other stand equipment are set up so that the stands are ready for the exhibitors to move in with their own equipment that they want to present to the visitors.
